Accommodation Situation Improved

We're pleased to announce that the accommodation situation has significantly improved!  The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has agreed to provide us 450 beds in their university housing suites. The suites have 3 different configurations – 4, 5 and 8 beds. It's important to understand, however, that one bedroom doesn't have more than 2 beds – an 8 bed suite has 5 or 6 separate bedrooms. Since the university doesn't have the type of staff that you would find at a hotel, the song festival organizing committee will administer reservations per the following guidelines:

• A guest can make a request only for a suite, not a separate bedroom or bed
• A guest can request a 4, 5 or 8 bed suite by  writing to Gytis Mikulionis
• Gytis will then issue the requesting guest a reservation code
• That reservation code should then be shared with the friends, relatives and acquaintances who will be sharing the suite accommodations
• Registration and payment for the accommodations will be made via the Internet
• Registration and payment can be taken care of by one individual or each individual separately
• Once you've received a reservation code from Gytis, you may register and pay for accommodations here
• The registration form will require first name, last name, e-mail address, mobile phone number and your reservation code.  First and last name will be required for each individual that is being registered
• Registration and payment must be completed by May 21^st. Refunds will not be made after May 21^st.

General UIC Information

• Individual guest cost - $38.00/night; eg. an 8 bedroom suite would cost $304/night
• 4 and 5 bedroom suites have 1 bathroom, while the 8 bedroom suite has 2 bathrooms
• Suites do not have televisions
• Transportation will be provided for weekend evening events and Sunday Mass
• Saturday's rehearsal and Sunday's song festival are within walking distance of the UIC suites (20 minutes – 0.8 miles or 1.3 km)
• Distance between UIC and the Sheraton – 3 miles or 5 km
